My housemate planned her perfect day recently- and she reminded me of how I had done the same 20 months ago during an Ally Maz’s online workshop on manifestation and affirmations.
HOW I VISIONED MY PERFECT DAY WOULD GO
Written on 7th January 2023
“I woke up in Vancouver, in my cosy bed, that’s bright and modern. I drink my ice cold water that’s glacially crisp. It’s a bright crisp morning outside. I go to the window to stretch, taking a deep breath and beginning to feel into my day.
I go to my journal and see my exciting schedule ahead. I do a quick yoga flow and 20 minutes of meditation. I then have my first coffee of the day. I sit down to write my clients programs for the week and catch up with them. I then have to rush off out to my yoga class I am teaching at 10am. I usually cycle but it’s pretty icy, so I run there.
The class is a rocket yoga class. I am amazed at how much I love this now as I used to struggle with the class so much in my own self practice .
After class, a student is so thankful about my teaching and the fun I bring to the class as well as wisdom I have to share. She has asked if I can do a private class with her. I tell her about my health coaching business and discuss how this time last year, I would not believe the life I live now. I asked if she wants to grab a coffee and discuss her future goals in more detail, and so we make a plan for tomorrow. I’m over the moon, at the impact, I have and the ease and confidence I feel in myself as well as the path I am on is just liberating.
I decide to walk along the seafront as I’m on my way to meet a friend and plan a future retreat, which we want to do in Central America, Costa Rica or Mexico.
After the meeting, I’m going to do some bouldering practice with a group, I met out here . I’ve gotten really good now. I’m planning a trip somewhere in Canada to do this over the summer.
We then head to my boyfriends for dinner, play some games and watch a documentary. Everyone heads home and me, and my boyfriend reflect on the day we have had. I mention how happy I feel with all these wonderful people around me and how inspired I am with where I have got to, the realisation that this dream is a reality, and that there is so much more to come. More yoga, more to learn, more people to meet, more lives to impact, it all start with belief and self-love”
This vision of my future self for the majority came true (apart from living in Vancouver). My day-to-day life in Norwich is not far off, so I wrote a day in the life of me that happened recently.
HOW A TYPICAL DAY FOR ME GOES NOW
7th August 2024
I wake up at 5:30 AM, starting my day with a glass of water that’s not quite ice-cold but refreshing enough. My modern room in Norwich is filled with sunlight as I open the blinds to reveal a clear blue sky on this summer day in August. I take a deep stretch beginning to settle into my day.
I dive into my morning routine, brewing a cup of coffee while journaling or meditating in bed. After this quiet time, I get moving with some yoga or a quick 20-minute run. It's Wednesday, and I’m excited to teach my 7:15 AM yoga class at Happy Om. This energizing class blends Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Mandala yoga, and it holds a special place in my heart as it was the first class I started after moving here last July.
I usually run or cycle to class but today I drive as I will be heading to Holt afterwards for a health & nutritional coaching consultation as well as an evening yoga class I will be teaching there.
Driving to class, I think about how my students have grown along with me. Today, I’m teaching nine students, the largest group yet, and I can't help but feel proud of their progress. After class, we gather for our monthly tradition—coffee and pastries outside in the sun, catching up before all heading off to begin our days .
I then head to Holt, feeling energized by the community spirit. I remember a time when I almost gave up on this class due to slow growth and financial struggles, but today is a reminder of how far I’ve come.
At 10 AM, I meet a new nutritional client at NuMi, a company I’ve been working alongside for two months. We start with a finger prick test to check various health indicators, then discuss their results and how we can work together to improve their health. They found me through Hotpod, where I also teach, and they’re eager to learn more about nutrition and cooking.
After our consultation, I write up my notes and send them recipes to try over the next few weeks. My next focus is promoting the Reground Retreat I'm organizing with a friend in Suffolk. This will be my first retreat, and I’m excited about the connection between movement and food that we’ll explore at FiveRodFarm a no dig organic farm community.
As the day continues, I prepare for my evening yoga class at NuMi, where I have three students booked. I know the class size will grow as we launch officially in October.
After teaching, I drive 10 minutes to the coast for a long walk, wanting to make sure I get some movement and headspace for myself. I call my boyfriend and we reflect on our days. The sunset over Weybourne beach is stunning, and I feel grateful for the people in my life and the journey I’m on.
I drive home and prepare breakfast and lunch for my Practice Nurse job the next day. As I wind down, I set my phone to sleep mode, ready for another early morning start tomorrow. I read a few pages to help settle my mind for sleep and calmness before drifting off.
How does manifestation work?
Manifestation is the process of turning your thoughts, beliefs, and desires into reality. It is often linked to the Law of Attraction, which suggests that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person's life. Here are the key principles behind how manifestation works:
1. Clarity of Intent: Successful manifestation starts with clearly defining what you want. This involves setting specific goals and visualising the desired outcome. The more detailed and vivid your vision, the better.
2. Positive Mindset: Maintaining a positive attitude is crucial. Believing in your ability to achieve your goals and remaining optimistic helps align your thoughts with your desires. Negative beliefs or doubts can hinder the manifestation process.
3. Emotional Alignment: Emotions play a significant role in manifestation. Feeling the emotions associated with achieving your goals, such as happiness, gratitude, or excitement, can enhance your ability to attract those outcomes.
4. Visualisation Techniques: Many practitioners use visualisation exercises, such as creating vision boards or meditative practices, to reinforce their intentions and keep their desires at the forefront of their minds.
5. Taking Action: Manifestation is not solely about thinking positively; it also requires taking actionable steps toward your goals. This could involve setting plans, networking, or acquiring new skills that align with your desires.
6. Gratitude Practice: Expressing gratitude for what you already have can create a positive mindset and attract more abundance. Acknowledging current blessings reinforces a sense of fulfillment.
7. Trust and Patience: Finally, trusting the process and being patient is essential. Manifestation can take time, and it's important to remain open to how your desires may unfold.
While manifestation relies heavily on mindset and intention, it's important to recognise that external factors and circumstances also play a role in achieving your goals. Combining these principles with practical efforts can lead to more effective results.
Why Manifestation Is Important?
Manifestation is important for several reasons:
1. Empowerment: It helps individuals take control of their lives by recognising the influence of thoughts and beliefs on experiences.
2. Goal Achievement: Clearly defining goals and visualising outcomes enhances focus and determination, increasing the likelihood of success.
3. Positive Mindset: It fosters optimism, reducing stress and improving mental well-being.
4. Attracting Opportunities: Positive thoughts and emotions may attract beneficial experiences and relationships.
5. Emotional Resilience: Focusing on desires rather than lack promotes a constructive attitude in facing challenges.
6. Enhanced Creativity: Visualisation encourages innovative thinking and problem-solving.
7. Alignment with Values: It promotes reflection on personal values, leading to more fulfilling pursuits.
8. Gratitude and Abundance: Emphasising gratitude shifts perspective towards abundance and appreciation.
9. Holistic Well-Being: Integration of manifestation practices can improve mental, emotional, and physical health.
In summary, manifestation empowers individuals to consciously shape their lives, fostering purpose and fulfillments.

Where would you like to be living?
What kind of room have you woken up in?
Look at the colours, the light, the layout of your room, the view from your window the outside world.
What have you got planned for the day?
How does it feel to be you in this moment?
How do you want to show up to the world today?
Who do you see in your day?
What is the expression of your face?
What colours, scenes, conversations, people do you have in your day?
How does your day end?
What accomplishments are you proud of today?
Once you have meditated on this, grab your pen and paper and write your day from start to finish. Take time to explore how you felt at each stage.
Go through what you wrote and circle all the positive words that you feel significant to you.
From these create three manifestation statements filling in the gaps OR creating your own entirely.
Statements:
I deserve a life where I feel ….
It is my birthright to be …. & ….
I let go of ….to support …….
Have a copy of these manifestation quotes with you to help support and guide you.
